The Department of Transport and several similar agencies have laid down strict laws for HGV companies to follow. There are different sets of regulations for firms to adhere to and this will all depend on the type of cargo they are carrying. If a company only deal in everyday products which pose no danger to the general public, then the rules will not be the most stringent. However, anyone who carries hazardous goods in their vehicles (even if it is only from time to time) will have a whole different set of regulations to comply with.
